Dont know how to play with the buddy key - Guild Wars Forums

HEY

My friend just got guild wars nightfall and decided to give his buddey key to me and im trying to find how to play with it. Do i have to like get his cd or sumthing? So I would be glad if u guys could help me out

-Open Guild Wars
-Do NOT log in
-Under the password field will be a link titled "Create Account or Add Access Key"
-Click it and enter your account name and password
-Follow the directions to add the CD key
-Create a new character or bring one of your existing ones to Kamadan (To do so, get the quest from the NPC on the docks in Lion's Arch)
-Enjoy Nightfall!

On a related note, you will have to download all the files for Nightfall. If you don't want to go through the download screens whenever you enter a new area, you can configure Guild Wars to auto-download any files you don't already have. To do this (Note: This is assuming you are using Windows), create a new shortcut for Guild Wars. Right click on the shortcut and click "Properties". In the "Target" box, it will tell you what the shortcut is connected to. (Probably "C:/Program Files/Guild Wars/GW.exe, although it could be something different depending on where you installed it.) This should be enclosed in quotation marks. At the end, outside of the quotation marks, seperated from the target info by a space, type "-image" (no quotes). Run this shortcut and any files you do not already have will start downloading. Start it up overnight or while you're at work and you're set to play Nightfall, download screen-free. Note that this shortcut DOES NOT actually open the Guild Wars client, just the "Connect to ArenaNet" screen.

As far as I know, if you already play Prophecies, you should already have the nightfall content on your hard drive. (I did, but had used the -image switch to download everything)
At the log in screen go to Add Key. If you already have Prophecies you gotta put your password in, type in the code & away you go.
